Okay, so here’s the day in the life of a confused nonproductive Internet marketer.
7 a.m.
Get up.
Have a cup of coffee with the girlfriend tell her goodbye. Tell her you’ll be a busy man today making all kinds of money on the Internet.
Next while you’re still running around in your pajamas and bathrobe because this is the life of an Internet marketer and pajamas and bathrobe is the suit that you wear to work.
You decide “Well I might as we’ll get these dishes done while I’m out here in the kitchen.”
Good, I’m glad I got that done.
Today I’m going to start selling stuff on eBay again. This is been a money maker for me in the past. And I know that I have enough stuff in here to sell today. I want to sell the high ticket items so I will sell this, this and this and I put these on list of things to sell.
Then I break out the new camera that I bought myself. It’s a nice Sony video camera takes HD videos and still pictures and everything. So let’s see if I can actually take pictures directly to the computer without having to remove the card and downloading them.
Well, lets see now, that doesn’t work so I’ll do it the old-fashioned way and take them on the card download to the PC, edit them if needed and then make the auction listings for eBay.
Then I decide, this office is just too crowded to start taking pictures for eBay so I better take all the stuff off my desk and move it over to the bed. Yes, this is this is a home office, and it needs to be straightened up a little bit, because yes it is a home office in the bedroom, and it is pretty cluttered, because I am eBay selling machine.
Oh, wait a minute, the firewood pile for the wood stove is really getting kind of low and before I take a shower I think I ought to get that wood stacked up inside the house. So, I’ll go move some wood inside the house.
Keep reading, there is a point to this.
Well, that made a terrible mess on the carpet. Time to vacuum. While I have the vacuum out I might as well do the bathroom rugs. Might as well even suck up the dust line against the wall that the vacuum misses
Let’s see, it’s only about 10:30 now.
Time to make some breakfast and take a shower.
Today’s hot cereal is seven grain mixed with oatmeal with Apple. This only takes about 10 minutes.
While the cereal cools off a little bit, now it’s time to take a shower.
Done with the shower.
Oh, I notice the three light bulbs in the vanity lights above the mirror are burned out.
It used only be two but now it’s three. Better write that on the shopping list in the kitchen. Write down to get lightbulbs on the shopping list to buy next time I’m at the store.
Go back to the bathroom and start cleaning/arranging up the bathroom counter.
WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?
I’m not getting any auctions written for eBay.
So, I’ve decided do make a podcast and a blog entry, relating how distracted I was today and how disorganized I was. But most of all, I want to realize that I have this problem and take corrective action.
Maybe you can relate?
Ring, Ring, Ring oh, there’s the phone “I wonder who that is”, caller ID says it’s my buddy Larry. Sometimes, I try to teach him how to do this and make the big bucks.
So I shut down the recording of this podcast, so I can answer the phone and not record that interruption.
I come to find out Larry has the “tollhouse store” open. Now, what this means is that Larry baked cookies and they are my favorite.
Chocolate chip cookies.
So, if I go over and get some I’ll have chocolate chip cookies.
That’s another thing to put on my to do list today.
Back to the blog post and the podcast.
Lets see where was I, oh yeah, breakfast, a shower, change a light bulbs in the bathroom, clean off the counter, vacuuming, firewood. Not necessarily in this order
Oh, and now I remember I was putting off something until today when I had free time. Today is Sunday, so now I can watch videos that my friend Lynn sent to me. They are from Andy Jenkins at stompernet.net.
They are supposed to teach me how to make my web pages shoot to the top of Google and get better search engine rankings and not get banned and I’m watching them instead of building a website or working on my eBay auctions.
So, what is the purpose of this blog post?
The purpose of this blog post is to show you, unless you have a specific methodology or process where you can get your business done during the day, nothing will happen.
Now let me repeat that, unless you have a process or a system in place for getting your business done nothing will happen.
And when nothing happens, you don’t make any money.
And when you don’t make any money, it’s very hard to quit your day job and consider yourself a full-time Internet marketer.
So what is the answer to this? Where do I find a process or a method or a system that allows me to get things done on a daily basis that helps my business growth, day by day?
Well, I have a couple of things to recommend to you.
First, I think the most critical thing you could do is visit Mark Joyner’s Simpleology.com and sign up for Simpleology 101.
“The Simple Science of Getting What You Want.”
This is a 21 day course. It doesn’t cost you anything. The fact that it doesn’t cost you anything probably means that most of you won’t do anything with it. But, For the two or three percent of you that will go ahead and take the course, I praise you for that.
You’re actually taking a step to getting things done in your life and creating habits that will help you build your business.
I’m not going to go to the details about what a wonderful program this is, I simply believe that it will work for you if you use it.
I have trouble, just like everybody else once in a while, not staying on task. Mark Joyner’s program about Simpleology will help you, if you can define what your clear vision is, complete the tasks needed to achieve your goals.
Second item I would like to recommend is Jim Edwards, and The Net Reporter membership site.
I’ve seen Jim present information at Armand Morin’s big seminar, and recently had an offer to join his membership site.
Jim is an expert in the use of video and multimedia for websites and because I’m use video and multimedia to create content for my websites and create traffic for my websites I decided to join his membership program.
After just one week I’m thoroughly satisfied.
One of the subscriber benefits you get when you join his program is being able to watch all of his previous webinars.
Many times these pay for webinars cost upward of $97 each.
He has one webinar replay you get as a member named “How to Get ANY Project Done in Just 2 Hours Per Day…”
In this webinar he’ll teach you, among other topics, how you prioritize your activities and how to allocate your time effectively.
I think you should check out what he offers at The Net Reporter and decide whether or not, if it’ll work for you.
The webinars, software and education he has to offer will help you in your business.
2:30 PM
Okay, enough of this now it’s time for me to get back to work.
Let’s see where did I put that phone system I was going to sell on eBay?

Focus makes a huge difference in results Dave. Your day is a perfect example of a scattered focus and why to change.
Awareness of the need to change is the first step and you have taken that step. Good going.
