New Year and New Start, NO Really, Start…

January 10th, 2008 · No Comments

Hi, welcome back. To stay easily and automatically updated, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

I have a couple important things to share with you from a couple of books that I’m reading lately.

Many of you start this new year wondering if this could be the year for you to make money for your Internet marketing efforts.

The key word there is efforts.

Many of us spend a great deal of time learning about how to do Internet marketing from one guruor the next buying this downloadable e-book that’ll create wealth and value for us.

There are  a lot of things that could be done every day, but if all you do is learn and don’t apply any of them you will be in the same place tomorrow and you’ll be in the same place next month as you are now and probably  in the same place next January as you are now.

You need to actually start doing some of these things.

Take one project.

Just one.

Map it out from beginning to end and do the steps.

You don’t have to do the steps sequentially.

Sometimes you can do steps simultaneously. If  you get stuck at a roadblock on one step then move to another step that you can do.

By moving ahead to another step, you are not allowing yourself to get stuck. You are allowing the universe to help you complete your project.

This morning I was reading the "Language of Letting Go" by Melody Beattie. She included this quote in today’s meditation.

Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are little course, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you fail, and get fairly rolled in the desert once or twice? Up again; you shall never be so afraid of a tumble.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

There are a number of stories about Thomas Edison floating around that before he discovered the right way to make a light bulb.  He found about 5000 different ways on how not to make a light bulb.

Here is a quote attributed to Thomas Edison himself.

I didn’t make any mistakes, I just know a thousand ways not to make a light bulb.

The key here is that he decided to try at least one way to make light bulb before he read about 10,000 other ways how he could maybe make a light bulb.

You need to get out and you need to actually try some of the theories that you’ve invested your money in and read about before you move on to another one.

Let me rephrase that, you need to actually try one of the theories that you’ve invested your money in.

You can do just about any one of them.  I encourage you to pick one and move ahead.

Now here is a quote by me;

Do overs are better than do nothings

-David Wilcox
